The figure shows the conceptual framework of the project. The central line shows the main focus of the project. The top and bottom lines have been added to acknowledge the fact that there are other compounding causal factors. The x-axis demonstrates the methodologies used.
Central to the conceptual framework is the fact that people do not migrate because of climate change as such, but because of the way climate change affects their livelihoods, food security, and well-being. Often the impacts of climate change on people are mediated through climate impacts on ecosystems and the services they provide.
